The Green Gables Shore area lies north of the central part of PEI. And, while it attracts most visitors because of its namesake, it really is a beautiful part of the island with pretty white beaches, impressive red cliffs & pastoral farms that take you back to Anne's Victorian days of beautiful, open countryside.
Kensington to New London
Founded at the crossing of 5 roads, Kensington is still as busy today as it was in the late 1800s & is full of glimpses into life in the town in eras past. Visit The Home Place Inn & Restaurant & have a bite to eat in this historic family house, or stay turn-of-the-century style at Victoria Inn & Housekeeping Suites. Spend some quiet moments at the Kensington Veterans Memorial Military Museum where you will memorabilia from the Boer War, WWI, WWII & the Korean War.

Don't forget to take a tour of the Haunted Mansion with its secret gardens before you head out of town to St. Mary's Church, a beautiful example of French Gothic architecture at Indian River & catch one of the performances at the PEI Indian River Festival. In Malpeque, visit The Kier Memorial Museum for a look at Mi'kmaq & Acadian life in the past or kayak in Malpeque Bay before taking a swim at Cabot Beach Provincial Park. Get a few putts in at Darnley Greens & visit L.M. Montgomery's birthplace in New London or the antiques gallery at Gallery 18.
Island Insider: Stop by the Art Gallery of Tony Diodati in Spring Brook. You'll find paintings of Prince Edward Island's beautiful scenery & the gallery has great views of the quaint French River fishing village & New London Bay.
Stanley Bridge, Cavendish & Rustico
Stanley Bridge Marine Aquarium, Manor of Birds & Gift Shop will keep the family busy for a few hours or you can browse the local crafts at Stanley Bridge Studios for some unique gifts. Sample succulent oysters at Carr's Oyster Bar/Seafood Restaurant after letting off some steam at Combat Zone Outdoor Laser Tag. A must if you're passing through the Stanley Bridge area, is the Eddie May Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, where you'll be thoroughly entertained over a good meal.
Sandspit in Cavendish is Prince Edward Island's largest amusement park, or try kiteboarding, kayaking, or golf at one of the 3 courses in the area. Enjoy ocean-view dining on the deck at Rachael's Restaurant of Prince Edward Island or have your photo taken in different styles at Grandpa's Antique Photo Studio. Browse the strange displays at Ripley's Believe it or Not! Odditorium and then take a trail at Prince Edward Island National Park of Canada.
There are many places to visit for Anne of Green Gable fans around Cavendish; Avonlea – Village of Anne of Green Gables has activities for the whole family. Green Gables is famous for inspiring the author, or watch one of the various Anne-themed theatre productions at the Confederation Centre of the Arts.
Stop over at The Farmer's Bank of Rustico & Doucet House Museums in Rustico, the site of the first people's bank, & pick up a stunning piece from Gaudreau Fine Woodworking afterwards. A short hop away is North Rustico where you'll find the kid's haven of Santa's Woods or try your hand at some outdoor adventure with Outside Expeditions – North Rustico. Order a delicious steak at Fisherman's Wharf Restaurant or try the seafood at Blue Mussel Cafe while you watch blue herons from the comfort of the deck.

Shaw's Restaurant is situated at Canada's oldest inn, which is a Canadian National Historic site where guests have been staying overnight since 1860! For a novel way of taking in the area's terrain, try a horse ride Millstream Trail Rides & indulge in a delicious ice-cream at Millstream Restaurant after the ride.
